Expedict sponsors and presents award at the Legal IT Forum 2006

Expedict, represented by Managing Director, Michael Falcon, sponsored and presented the award for 'Mitigating Risk Through the Use of IT' at the Legal IT Forum 2006, held at Gleneagles Hotel, Scotland, 11-13 October. The award, in recognition of persistence and skill brought to a project on a very small budget, was presented to Charles Drayson of Ceridien, who has shown the ability to identify and progmatically solve problems without the support of a dedicated IT team.

Expedict is the choice of NetEventsTV

In the spring of 2006, NetEvents will launch NetEventsTV to provide state-of-the-art IP-based multimedia TV content to senior executives in the global IT industry. NetEventsTV offers media-rich interactive content, including video documentaries and case studies, tech tutorials, industry surveys and research data from leading analyst groups, test data from the top Labs, Keynotes and CxO perspectives, as well as Podcasts, webcasts and webinars covering important industry issues.

As the content of NetEventsTV is continually updated, Expedict will be busily producing transcripts that will be delivered to subscribers both as downloadable documents and as synchronised text that will scroll along with the on-demand videos. Our synchronised text service was developed with NetEventsTV and is now available to all customers who publish transcripts to accompany their on-demand webcasts.

Launch of the Event Content Capsule

Offering the Content Capsule to all our customers was the logical next step for the service we had developed for certain conference organisers. At the end of every conference the audio, videos, speaker slides, photographs and transcripts constitute a rich informational resource for both delegates and those who were unable to attend. Publishing this content online is certainly the fastest way of reaching a wide audience.

But we have customers whose audience still prefers to receive the collection of content in a form that allows them to consult it both on and offline, and to archive it as they see fit. That is why we introduced the Content Capsule, a way of bringing event content together in an attractively presented, well structured CD. With CDs having become a relatively inexpensive media, the Content Capsule is a great way of satisfying those who still like to hold something that they can say they own.

Successful completion of complex outsourced typing trial

The rollout of digital dictation across all of Cunningham Lindsey's UK offices was bound to be a complex undertaking, with challenges ranging from adapting IT systems to training staff and helping many of them make the transition to teleworking. This is why CL and Expedict opted for a staged project approach, with milestones along a relatively long trial period.

Stage one involved developing a custom transcription booking screen that mirrored the way CL worked, allowing users to select amongst hundreds of commonly used templates. The second stage saw our system linked to theirs in a way that allowed typed documents to be imported directly into their claims management platform. The long trial was declared a success in December 2005, the start of a phased rollout across all of CL's UK offices.

Expedict rolls out VoIP for tighter integration of its 24/7 operation

Leveraging emerging technologies that help us to become even more efficient and pass on savings to our customers is integral to our business model. Expedict has partnered with Saiph Communications to implement a Voice Over IP (VoIP) system that more tightly integrates our geographically dispersed operation.

As we work with more customers having multiple users, the functionality of the VoIP system, and in particular the features that support remote workers and people on the move, will allow Expedict to maintain professional call handling in anticipation of increased customer queries.

Expedict Typist Module simplifies working with 100s of client templates

At Expedict, we don't take a 'one size fits all' approach to delivering transcripts. We understand that a transcript is only as useful as its accuracy and timeliness -- and the format it's delivered in . This is why we've developed a system that allows us to work with literally hundreds of customer templates, without choosing an incorrect one that would need to be reformatted once received.

Our IT team, in conjunction with our customer having the highest number of templates (1,354), developed a Typist Console unique to Expedict's production. Not only does it automatically open the correct template specified by the customer, it collects and transmits important data about the typing job, such as actual duration of audio, number of words typed and production notes for the customer's attention.

Expedict meets increasing demand for IR transcripts with specialist team

Expedict was founded on a number of identified market needs, including one for a service provider who could deliver a high volume of fast, accurate investor relations (IR) transcripts. The bulk of these transcripts are of corporate earnings presentations to financial analysts. For this service, speed and accuracy are paramount when dealing with price-sensitive information.

This is why Expedict has groomed a specialised team of IR typists, chosen after successfully completing a series of IR transcription trials and then continually groomed to perfect this service. Under the direct supervision of our Quality Control Manager, this team has won a reputation for producing the most consistently accurate IR transcripts, even of speakers whose native language is not English. With IR under their belt, this team stands ready to take on any challenge.

Introduction of real-time graphical reports of transcription bookings

Expedict helps you to see where you're saving money by outsourcing your typing. While the most accurate picture of savings emerges from an analysis of transcription bookings and your own data, our graphical reports of how your staff are using the Expedict system provide some immediate insights.

Reports are always based on the most up-to-date information, presenting a graphical illustration of the number of minutes transcribed under each service over a specified period of time, along with cost information broken down by user. These reports can be run at any time from within the account of designated admin users, and the data underlying each report can be downloaded as a spreadsheet for use in other reports. Expedict will be developing other graphical and data table reports to meet specific customer requirements.
